About us

We are an Anglican church in the Coalville, committed to playing our part in the Diocese of Leicester and the Coalville family of churches. We articulate our sense of vision and vocation as Growing in Christ and living in faith.

We have been inspired by the image of “Living Water” from John 4 where Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at the well in the heat of the day. The story is one of welcome and inclusivity; one of being forgiven and redeemed; one of being spiritually filled by the Holy Spirit, “living water”; one of faith and worship in Spirit and in Truth and one of being transformed and sharing the good news of an exciting God in Jesus Christ. In John 7:38 Jesus says that “out of the believer’s heart shall flow streams of living water”. It will be something that bubbles up out of us! Our Vision therefore at St David’s is to be:

“Growing in Christ and living in faith”

We grow in our knowledge of Christ as his disciples in our journey together and we are inspired to live out our faith in our daily lives. Our prayer is that we are filled with Living Water and this Living Water flows from us.

Our vision is realised through initiatives;

to be Christ-centred in all that we do
to be ever more rooted in prayer
to be a friendly, welcoming and happy church family
to have a church of all ages, which can hold the children as they grow
to be enjoying a range of worship styles which inspire, challenge, comfort and renew
to have a congregation where every person feels they are involved and has a voice
to be more active, as a church, in the community at major ecumenical and public events
to be mission-based and developing strategies to bring people to know Christ
to be enjoying good relationships with other churches of all denominations
