Notes for Readers:
After announcing the page number, would readers please pause so that people who wish to follow the reading in the pew bible have time to find the correct page.
Please use the church bible for readings where possible. However, if you wish to use www.biblegateway.com as the basis for your readings, please note that the wording shown in the NIV (UK) edition on that site is sometimes not exactly the same as the wording in the NIV pulpit and pew bibles used at St. David’s.
The version which currently is best to use is the New International Version 1984 available on the BibleGateway site.
However, it is recommended that you check and amend the wording, if necessary, to avoid any confusion for those who wish to follow the readings in the pew bible.
If the readings are intentionally taken from another edition of the bible, this should be announced.
All readings are published in advance in the service rota (see above) and can be viewed/downloaded as required.
The readings published below will be as those published in the ‘pew’ leaflet. These may, on rare occasions, differ from those published in the rota.
Collect for the Ninth Sunday after Trinity
Almighty God, who sent your Holy Spirit to be the life and light of your Church: open our hearts to the riches of your grace, that we may bring forth the fruit of the Spirit in love and joy and peace; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
