              SUMMER FAIR

                   Saturday 4th August 2018

August is nearer than we think! Here are a few things to consider:

Prizes. We never have enough! The more we have to purchase the less the end result. Anything new is appreciated for the tombola: toiletries, stationery, toys and gifts. Time to search the cupboards maybe? Bottles of all shapes and sizes are needed to stock the bottle stall and small children’s toys for the games areas.

I will be writing to businesses for donations as usual but if you know of any possible sources for donations or prizes please follow them up, although it would be good if you checked with me first in case they have already donated. I am willing to store any items you may like to donate.

We are accepting donations for the White Elephant onto the stage or via Jenny Holland but PLEASE can you hold onto books until much nearer the event as they are difficult to store and heavy to move. No electrical items or furniture please.

I have always emphasised that this day is not just about fundraising but also about providing our community with a fun day and showing them the love of Christ BUT with the roof situation our church budget will be tighter than usual this year. It is particularly important that we take this opportunity to boost funds. We have some new faces in the congregation and we'd love to see you helping out please. There are also some who have been attending for longer but don't seem to come along and we need you too. We all need a roof over our heads on a Sunday morning after all!

Please speak to me if you require further information or to share ideas and look out for notices in the porch soon.
