Ah yes! What the vicar saw!

At Albert Village ready for the off

What are they looking at?

Men’s Walk in the Albert Village area - 29th March 2014

Eleven men had a great walk in gorgeous Spring sunshine. The area around Albert Village has been transformed over the years from a mining and industrial wasteland to a beautiful nature area abundant with with lakes, birds and wild flowers.

An excellent breakfast was enjoyed at the ‘Lakeside Bistro’

Everybody enjoyed a ‘full English’.

Guess who the two were who also  ‘indulged’ in a luxury hot chocolate?

Clue - the name of both was Alan

Eleven very ‘full’ men after breakfast by the lakeside; photo taken by a very helpful waitress.

Men’s Walk around Pillings Lock, Barrow-on-Soar  - 31st May 2014

Ten men had an extra long walk. The walk started at the Pillings Lock and Marina car park and progressed over very muddy fields (see photos, below) until encountering the canal tow path and then returning to the Lock restaurant for a great breakfast.

Many thanks, once again, to Adrian Bristoll for mapping out and checking the walk for us.

Look at those lovely polished boots!

Mud, mud, glorious mud!………………………………The boots aren’t so shiny now.

No, no - not head first!

Finally a late breakfast at the ‘Lock’ restaurant.
