Men’s Walk in the Outwoods Area  - 9th August 2014

Nine men enjoyed a lovely walk in the beautiful Leicestershire countryside, on a sunny and warm August morning.

An excellent ‘full English’ Breakfast was at the Longcliffe golf club. Check out a few selected pictures, below.

Many thanks, once again, to Adrian Bristoll for mapping out and checking the walk for us, and organising breakfast.

Neil - walking the plank(s)!

An a-maize-ing sight - we nearly lost Kurt in this field!

Men’s Walk around the Queen’s Jubilee Wood  - 18th October 2014

Thirteen men joined together for the walk around the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Wood which was created from the old Opencast Mine in Ravenstone.

Much of the woodland in still in its infancy, but after torrential rain overnight, the morning was fine, if a little dull, and the gravel pathways made for easy walking. The duration was approximately 1hr 20m (just  over 3 miles).

Breakfast was at the Bull and Lion, Packington, and was voted one of the best (many thought it was the very best) breakfast to date. The whisky and chilli marmalade was quite a surprise and relished by most to judge by the number of rounds of toast consumed!

Looking forward to the next walk!

First Men’s Walk of 2015 - around Conkers and Moira Furnace - 3rd January 2015

Although the weather forecast was pretty dire, eleven men turned out to do the first walk of 2015 around the Conkers Area and Moira Furnace. As it happened the rain held off until later, and so everyone enjoyed both the walk and the breakfast at the Lakeside restaurant afterwards - especially the person having the ‘luxurious’ hot chocolate drink!

As the pictures show, many other ‘run runners’ were also enjoying the great outdoors.

Men’s Walk around the Nature Reserve at the site of the old Lount Pit on Saturday 7th March 2015

Fourteen men enjoyed a lovely walk around the nature reserve on a pleasant, sunny Spring-like morning.

An excellent ‘Full English’ breakfast was served at the Cross Keys pub, Newbold Coleorton - and it was only a fiver!!

Thanks again to Adrian Bristoll for mapping out and checking the walk, and organising breakfast.

Men’s Walk around the Packington Area on Saturday 16th May 2015

13 men took on this 21 stile (yes - 21 stiles in all, some high, some low) walk in lovely Spring sunshine, followed by breakfast at the ‘Bull and Lion’ in Packington.
