‘See, I am making all things new’

Welcome to my notes for August – as we are propelled into summer. At the time of writing this opening article we are experiencing a long hot sunny season that some love and some are not too keen on. We have watched England’s journey in the FIFA world cup, we have seen Angelique Kerber and Novak Djokovic win Wimbledon titles, Sebastien Vettel stop Lewis Hamilton winning his 6th consecutive British Grand Prix, England versus India in the Cricket Test match series, the Tour de Yorkshire and the Tour de France, the Golf Open at Carnoustie and we still have the incredible St David’s 2018 Summer Fair on Saturday

4th August to come! What a summer!

Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard in putting on the Fair this year. We pray that our friends and our community experience the welcome, the friendliness, the hospitality and the joy of this Christian event for our community.

We have new times ahead of us as we say goodbye to our Curate, Neil, after four years of ministry amongst us. A thank you to Neil can be found HERE.

.

We welcome Sally Bossingham working for the Diocese who, with her daughter Florence, is worshipping with us at St David’s and Sally starting to preach for us at some services.

We look forward to hearing from Rachel Hyde-Monk, our new youth worker, as she takes youngsters, including our own Johanna Godfrey, to Soul Survivor, one of the largest Christian events for young people in the country.

We look forward to finally replacing our stolen lead from the roof and installing a roof alarm to detect any further incidents.

Thank you to the diligent working party who are painting the outside of the Church building. It looks new!

Our wholeness and healing prayer team are available to pray for us during our morning communion services and we have a special service of prayer and praise on wholeness at our 6pm service on 29th July.

Look out for the guest ministers and preachers who will be taking services for us during August.

Look out as the Holy Spirit does new things amongst us this summer.

“And the one who was seated on the throne said, ‘See, I am making all things new.’ Also he said, ‘Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true.’ Then he said to me, ‘It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give water as a gift from the spring of the water of life.’” (Revelation 21:5-6).

Enjoy your summer and may you know the peace of Christ.
