Exploring Christianity

There are many misconceptions and misunderstandings about the Christian faith that prevent people knowing God’s love and purpose in their lives. We strongly believe that in order to grow deeper into our knowledge and experience of God we should ask questions and study the Bible together understanding the context it was written in and the message it has for our lives today.

At various times in the year we will run courses to help people answer the questions they have and grow in their knowledge of God’s love.

Who is Jesus? A discovery course looking at who Jesus is through the Gospel of Luke and the relevance of the Church today. We meet for 90 minutes each week over an 8 week period. Many people choose to be baptised or confirmed after this course.

Alpha. Typically Alpha has around ten sessions and includes food, a short talk and a discussion at the end where you can share your thoughts. Alpha really is for anyone who’s curious. The talks are designed to encourage debate and explore the basics of the Christian faith in a friendly, honest and informal environment. More details can be found at www.alpha.org

Youth Alpha. A course for young people to explore questions of faith around games and a meal. More details can be found at www.youthalpha.org

Christianity Explored. This course gives you time and space to think through who Jesus is and why he matters. It’s a course that enables you to find out more about who Jesus is in a relaxed atmosphere where food is shared together. More details van be found at www.christianityexplored.org

Pilgrim. Pilgrim is a major new teaching and discipleship resource from the Church of England. It aims to help every local church create a place where people can explore the Christian faith together and see how it can be lived out each day. Pilgrim is comprised of two stages: the Follow stage for those very new to faith, and the Grow stage for those who want to go further. Each stage contains four short six-session courses which focus on a major theme of Christian life. More details can be found at http://www.pilgrimcourse.org/
